The protagonists, Fireboy and Watergirl, are two young adventurers who, after being left behind in a temple in the woods, must race against the clock to complete 32 challenging levels. How To Play
The goal is to solve the puzzles and control both characters to complete the levels. Both heroes have distinct strengths and limitations that stem from their respective natures. Fireboy has no trouble navigating flaming pits and pools of lava. However, he will be drowned and put out of his misery if he attempts to cross a pool of water. Similarly, Watergirl can walk on water, but she will perish if she comes into contact with fire. Contact with the green goo pools will be fatal for both of them. Those should be avoided at all costs. The game ends when a single character is defeated.
If Fireboy and Watergirl want to finish a level, they have to find the exit doors and stand in front of them. To unlock the highest level, you must collect all the red and blue diamonds. Choose the red jewels for Fireboy and the blue ones for Watergirl. To get the best rating in each stage, time is also crucial. Get in the habit of keeping an eye on the clock at the top of the screen and trying to beat your previous record.
